Urdu Criticism in Azad Kashmir... An Analytical Study

Abstract

In 1947, a great number of writers and poets migrated, right after
partition, From Ponch, Sri Nagger and Jammu with an intent to
permanently reside in Muzaffarabad. Literary activities, however, started
off in Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Individual as well as collective
levels. Literary works were often presented from various associations as
well as from Azad Kashmir Radio. These literary activities gradually
brought about the initiation of literary criticism in Azad Kashmir.
Therefore, the list of great names, whose critical and analytical abilities
were widely recognized not only in the region of Azad Kashmir but also
in its suburbs includes prof Mehmood Hashmi, Dr Sabir Afaqi, Dr
Ghulam Hussain Azhar, Dr Iftikhar Mughal, Narjis Iftikhar ,Habib
kaifawi, Dr Shafique Anjum and Jawwad Hussain Jafari.
