Abstract

Sufis and preachers have played a vital role in the promotion of Urdu
in Dakkan. Khawaja Gaisu Daraz Banda Nawaz was one of those
personalities who contributed to the development of Urdu language.
His spiritual poetry is a literary masterpiece and a fine specimen of
classical Urdu. According to the modern researchers, his contribution
to religious journals has not been proven to be true but his knowledge
and prowess of Urdu can never be denied. His preachings and sayings
indicate a mastery in Urdu and Persian languages.
