Abstract

Countless famous and non-famous Poets followed the colors and
diction of Iqbal. One of those poets is Iqbal Ahmed Sohail, who
succeeded in gaining fame by opposing Iqbal vehemently. When a
difference of opinion happened between Molana Hussain Ahmad
Madni and Allama Iqbal on interpretation of the term "Millat", it was
Sohail who wrote a poem against Iqbal. He also used various
methods to oppose him publicly. On the other side, he seems to be
influenced by the poems and Ghazals of Iqbal and he tried his level
best to create his poetic verses inspired under Iqbal's diction. He not
only wrote Ghazals and Poems in poetic grounds of Iqbal but also
wrote laudatories in praise of several Hindu Leaders and English
Rulers and that also in poetic grounds of Iqbal. He wrote natural
scenic poems by following Iqbal and sometime he was so much
inclined in following him that he used the same ideas and vocabulary
used by Iqbal. In this way he justified both of his opposition and
pursuance of Iqbal's thoughts and diction.
